Trends are an essential part of design and a key element in determining what the public is ready to accept from the field of design. Bold Typography

Dark Mode

Google introduced Dark mode on September 24th, 2019 and Android Authority states that 91.8% of people use some form of dark mode in their emails. Are you?






Gradients

The best ways to design your email with a unique background that can make your email stand out. Gradients grab eyeballs but also keep the subscriber interested. The gradually fading effect impacts a captivating feel to an email. Another area to consider having gradients, your CTA!


Emotional Design

Evoke the right emotion with the proper use of colors and imagery. Blue reflects serenity and peace, while red stands for excitement, passion and urgency. Orange signifies creativity, energy and freshness, while yellow can be used to draw attention without giving any alarming signal.


The same goes for imagery. If you are promoting a discount, use an image that reflects excitement, while if you are thanking your customer for their purchase; use an image that shows gratitude.


Neumorphism

Also know as neo-skeuomorphism, neumorphism uses subtle effects for objects without over-representing them. Tools like Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Photoshop can be used to design such emails. Try using neumorphism design in your forms or CTA.



Textured Illustrations for 2D Images

Stop using ordinary stock images or vectors in your campaigns. Using texture and shading to embellish your 2D image will make the look and feel to the next level. Experiment with various colors contrasts, gradients, tints and patterns to give more depth to your emails.

Phantasmagoric Collage

This will be the newest email design trend in 2021! Such a collage includes bits and pieces from different images placed on a single image. It gives the email a surreal feel while stirring the reader’s interest.




Muted Colors

In 2020 email designers started moving away for bright and bold colors and we will continue to see this trend grow stronger in 2021. Muted colors provide a vibrant counter-balance to the muted monotony of minimalist styles. They soften a brand’s image and make them appear friendlier and more cheerful. Pastel colors ensure that the visuals you have draw attention.


Monochrome Layout

We are not talking black and white designs here. Monochrome layouts will represents all colors in 2021.







Layering Animations

Combined the power of illustration and GIFs in your email and overlap animations with other, static images. This will not only add visual oomph to your emails but it has less of the technical drawbacks.


The layering effect, with or without animation adds visual depth to your emails and gives designers better control of visual hierarchy, or what elements get noticed first. It also fits into the collaging technique, but with the animated motion giving it a fun twist.


Hyper-Personalization

2021 is the year of knowing your customer. Inserting a customer name into an email is not going to cut it in the world of personalization. You need to dive deep into your customer’s actions and provide content that is truly worthwhile to them. This includes imagery.
